The Center for Maternal and Infant Health is currently led by an Executive Director and two Co-Directors. The Center also turns to a large number of colleagues and partners for advice and support.

Wayne Price, MD, represents the UNC Department of Pediatrics where he serves as the Director for the Division of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine. The partnership between pediatrics and OB/GYN has been critical to providing comprehensive and coordinated care.
Kate Menard, MD, MPH represents the UNC Department of OB/GYN where she serves as the Director for the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine as well as Professor and Vice Chair of OB/GYN. The OB/GYN Department has been an integral partner to the Center, including the provision of financial support.
The Department of Pediatric Surgery is also a key partner with the Center for Maternal and Infant Health.
Lisa Welborn, LCSW
Lisa is a licensed clinical social worker who is fluent in English and Spanish. She has many years of experience working with both low risk and high risk pregnant women, babies and in communities. As a perinatal care specialist, Lisa works with families and their providers, both at UNC and in the community. Lori is a registered nurse with 14 years of experience working in the UNC Newborn Critical Care Center. She has been providing out-patient care coordination for complex infants for many years. Mary Heintz, RN, CCM, MS
Mary serves as a Public Health Maternity Care Coordinator. Her role includes coordinating the Maternal Transport Program and facilitating communication between the NC Women's Hospital and the health care providers and 16 clinics who send their patients to UNC for high-risk care and labor/delivery. Erin McClain, MA, MPH
Erin has been a program manager with the CMIH since 2007. She provides training and technical assistance to clinics across the state in integrating tobacco screening and cessation into their practice. Angela Aina, MPH
Angela is a Public Health Prevention Services Fellow with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Angela was assigned to the CMIH in September 2013 for two years to work with us on several initiatives with a particular focus on women's health and health equity.
